Taught By:
In this course, you will gain a broad introduction to business writing, emphasizing effective communication in a global, culturally diverse workplace. Students will move through the prewriting, drafting, and revision stages of the writing process as they create common professional documents, such as emails, reports, and internal memos. Formatting, tone, grammar, mechanics, and other genre conventions will be addressed, all while students are encouraged to develop their own writing voice and aim for intentional – rather than robotic – writing. Additionally, students will have many opportunities for self-reflection as they connect these theories and practices to their own lived experiences.
