This class is the equivalent of the second half of a year-long study of general chemistry. Topics covered include intermolecular forces, equilibrium, acids and bases, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and kinetics. Students are expected to be comfortable with solving for algebraic variables and exponential and logarithmic functions and should have taken the equivalent of the first half of general chemistry. Lab work will build on foundational skills from the first session and will focus on quantitative analysis, equilibrium, and kinetics through hands-on experimentation.
