Global Citizenship I, II, and III is a series of courses that will engage Â鶹Çø-Tacoma students in studies that will focus on citizenship from local, national, and global perspectives.

The purpose of this series of courses is to offer exploratory and entry-level interdisciplinary studies for students seeking to work and pursue more advanced studies in the following fields: Community Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Government, Law and Public Policy, Sociology, Cultural and Media Studies, and Early Childhood Education.

During Global Citizenship III in the spring, we will engage in studies that recognize the interconnectedness of people from diverse cultures, communities, and countries, emphasizing the sense of belonging to a larger global community. We aim to understand how decisions made in one part of the world can impact people elsewhere and actively contribute to a better world beyond national borders. This includes fostering awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives. Coursework will focus on the design, implementation, demonstration, and presentation of research projects aimed at promoting positive change at both local and global levels. These projects may take the form of educational events, publications, multimedia presentations, or art installations, helping the community promote positive change on both personal and institutional levels. This work will be presented at the Annual Showcase of Student Originated Research Projects (Spring Fair).
